Corinne Hershkovitch

Corinne Hershkovitch was admitted to the Paris Bar in 1992.

She practises art law in the fields of the art market, provenance research, the circulation of cultural goods, the protection of cultural heritage and intellectual property.

Corinne Hershkovitch takes part in numerous conferences on her areas of practice, and regularly publishes books and articles. She is also involved in academic and university training.

Corinne Hershkovitch chairs the Association pour le Soutien aux Travaux de Recherche Engagés sur les Spoliations (Astres). It was founded in 2019 by Dominique Schnapper and Marcel Wormser.

Since 1995, Corinne Hershkovitch has been involved in numerous cases involving the restitution of Jewish property looted during the Second World War and the relocation of cultural property. As a result, she has acquired considerable expertise in the alternative or judicial resolution of disputes concerning the ownership and location of cultural property.

Léa Fouché

Léa Fouché has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2022. 

She holds a Master 2 in Art Market and Heritage Law (Université Paris II), a Master 1 in Business Law (Université Paris II), and a bachelor’s degree in both Law and Art History (Université Paris II and Université Paris I). 

She joined Corinne Hershkovitch’s firm in 2021 as an associate.

Marie Duflot

Marie Duflot is a PhD student conducting her research in partnership with Corinne Hershkovitch’s firm and the Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) – under a Convention Industrielle de Formation par la Recherche (Cifre).
Her thesis concerns the study of research provenance, and aims to make it an autonomous discipline.

She graduated from a University Degree in Research Provenance (Université Paris Nanterre) and from an LLM in Public international law (Leiden University). 

She has been the coordinator of the Astres association since 2021.

Nans Méger

Nans Méger has been working with Corinne Hershkovitch’s law firm since 2021.

He holds a Master 2 in Industrial and Artistic Property (Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne), a Master 1 in French and German Business Law (Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne), and a Bachelor’s degree in French and German Law (Universität zu Köln).

After joining the École de Formation du Barreau in January 2023, he is now preparing to take his lawyer’s oath and become an associate at the firm.

Nans Méger assists cultural institutions, collectors, galleries, and artists in protecting and enhancing the value of their works and activities, while addressing their legal issues related to art and culture.
